Croatia’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has evaluated proposals received for the country’s multi-role aircraft procurement programme.
A study was also conducted to help make a decision on the acquisition of a modern fighter aircraft.
The procurement decision, which had previously been delayed, will help the country retain its ability to control and defend the national airspace.
Four proposals were received from Greece, Israel, Sweden, and the US in October.
The proposals involve high-tech solutions, transfer of knowledge, and experience supporting the development of short-supply industrial solutions related to the procurement of aircraft.
The decisions made will be based on the expert opinion of the Defence Committee of the Croatian Parliament and the Defence Council, including the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Defence Minister, among others.
Croatia seeks to procure multi-role combat aircraft in order to retain the capability of control and protection of the national airspace.
The proposed investment into combat aircraft is claimed to contribute to Croatia’s safety and provide stability and future economic development of the country.
