German mobility and transport company PTV is to present sustainable mobility solutions at the FIA Smart Cities Forum in Rome, Italy.
The FIA Smart Cities Forum, to be held in Rome on 13-14 April, aims to demonstrate the importance of sustainable mobility solutions for the FIA, the International Automobile Federation. The event will coincide with the launch of a newly created race track in the city, which will host an event of the electric-powered racing series, Formula E.
The decarbonisation of transport through the transition to more sustainable fuels, and the introduction of new technologies to make travelling more efficient, is recognised as a vital strategy to aid countries in meeting the targets set as part of the Paris Climate Agreement.
How will this be explored at the Smart Cities Forum?
The FIA Smart Cities Forum will address a number of areas which are vital to improving sustainability across the transport sector, including:
- The European Commission’s sustainable urban mobility plans;

PTV Group – which was founded at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany, and now has 20 international subsidiaries – works to develop sustainable mobility solutions by taking account of all aspects of traffic, transport and logistics.
The group is recognised as a leader in freight and logistics, traffic planning and intelligent transport systems, and its transport experts will be participating in the forum.
What have the stakeholders said about the event?
